Hello sweet friends! Welcome to this month’s Budget-Friendly Recipes Hop hosted by my dear friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life. If you are new to Decor To Adore may I say “Welcome!” Today I am sharing Delicious Shrimp Pad Thai. This recipe is fast and SO good. It’s perfect when you need dinner on the table quickly!
Delicious Shrimp Pad Thai
My daughter Lou created this tasty dish and we have been making it on repeat. With both of us prepping and cooking this tasty dish can be served in under 20 minutes.
The complete recipe card is listed below.
The Ingredients
It is no secret that I have a bit of an aversion to any recipe that has more than five ingredients. But don’t be intimidated. This recipe is perfect for beginners.
The sauce is so good! I love the crunch the peanuts and sprouts provide.
This is a perfect summer recipe as it doesn’t require an oven.
It is also delicious the next day for lunch!

Delicious Shrimp Pad Thai
This tasty recipe can be on the table within 30 minutes. It is a family favorite and loved by kids!
Ingredients
- 1 pound raw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 8 ounces of rice noodles
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts, chopped
- 2 cups of bean sprouts or other vegetables such as bok choy
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 4-6 cloves garlic, minced.
- 3 tablespoons of butter.
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. You can add more or less to taste.
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil.
- 2 tablespoons fish sauce.
- 2 tablespoons white vinegar.
- 3 tablespoons of brown sugar.
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes. You can add more or less to taste.
- 3 limes
- A handful of Thai or regular basil for garnish.
Instructions
1. Cook the rice noodles according to the package directions. Drain water and place in a large bowl.
2. While the noodles are cooking begin to make the sauce. In a small bowl, combine the soy sauce, vinegar, fish sauce, brown sugar, and chili flakes.
3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. When heated toss in the shrimp and sear on both sides until pink. This takes approximately 2-3 minutes. Add the butter, garlic, and additional chili flakes. Continue to cook until the garlic begins to caramelize and turn a light golden brown, approximately another 1-2 minutes.
4. Add the sauce to the shrimp mixture until warm. This is approximately 1 minute.
5. Remove the skillet from the heat and add the shrimp to the drained noodles and mix well.
6. Return the skillet to heat and scramble the eggs. Once cooked add to the noodle mixture. Then add the bean sprouts and green onions, toss to combine.
Notes
Chicken can be substituted for the shrimp if desired. Or use other vegetables such as cauliflower for a vegetarian feast.
