Welcome to the July Pinterest Challenge Summer Mantel Lantern Decor. This monthly event is hosted by Cindy of County Road 407. When I posted my summer decor last month I did not include the living room. At that time we were in the midst of a few home repairs. Tarps and ladders were not exactly that something special you want to see. But I have since decorated the space which includes A Summer Mantel inspired by a love of the seashore.
A Summer Mantel
This month’s challenge was inspired by a summer mantel by Little Bits of Home.
The arrangement features:
- A white mantel
- Light backdrop/artwork
- Blue glass
- White books
I adore the Pinterest Challenge as you can take a lovely decor idea and make it your own.
The heat and humidity have now settled in here in Texas. So our current color palette features cool colors and seaside bits of bliss.
The Decor To Adore arrangement features:
- A white mantel
- Seashore inspired artwork
- Seaglass
- White books
- Seashells
Most of the seashells have come from past walks on the beach. The large conch shell was purchased during our Cape May holiday.
My niece “Birdie” recently graduated. She will be headed to UGA in the fall to study aviary veterinary medicine. The bird and binoculars are a nod to her lovely achievement.
I hope you have enjoyed my seashore inspired summer mantel.

Up next is Paula from Sweet Pea. You will love her mason jar and lemon filled mantel!
Enjoy!

This is so pretty. I love it far more than the inspiration piece — the painting is fabulous and the blue and white add such depth of color and beauty. The white branches, bird, sea glass — it all falls together. I could fall into this scene and never leave!

Laura, that painting is beautiful. I love the coastal vibe that you’ve brought to the mantle with shells and branches. So nice of you to give a nod to your niece. Love the pops of white, too.

No way!!! You have a tree cookie fireplace insert?!? Did you make it? Love, love, love it! It is amazing how much I am drawn to things made of natural wood that is not stained. What a wonderful way to showcase your fireplace.
Have an absolute ball at Costume College!

I love your seaside mantel theme, Laura! You and I are such “theme” girls! Love the little birds tucked in; they bring life to the whole vingette. I always enjoy watching them flit to and fro so quickly. The big artwork in the back just sets everything off so beautifully!

Your mantel is beautiful Laura! I love the coastal vibe. The painting is so soothing to gaze at. Do you sit on the sofa and gaze at it? I totally would! So glad you could join us! And congrats to your niece. That sounds like an amazing career.
