Friday Favorites Flag Day

Hello sweet friends! Earlier this week I changed out the decor in my kitchen by adding in a few patriotic touches. I am excited to share those details tomorrow. In the meantime, here’s to Friday Favorites Flag Day for additional inspiration.

Stick A Flag In It

It is quite simple to add a few Flag Day touches to your home. Just nestle a few small flags to your existing decor.

Front Door Fun

This weekend I plan on changing out both the tired grapevine wreath on the front door and the weary basket on the back door.

The winter/spring flowers on the front porch also need to be replaced. I think I’ll look for red, white and blue blooms to refresh the pots.

Here at Storybook Cottage we are going to celebrate Flag Day with a lovely al fresco meal.

You can make dining outdoors as simple as you would like.

An outdoor dining table featuring a blue striped runner, red polka dot napkins, flower pot, and American flags.

An outdoor dining table set with white plates, striped napkins, potted herbs, American flags, and a grill.

Or you can pull out all the stops!

 New Little House Watch Party

Mark your calendars! Let’s have a virtual new Little House on the Prairie watch party on Thursday, July 9th at 7 pm CST.
I will be joined by two very special guests:
Milliner (hat maker) A Milliner’s Whimsy by Anna Worden who has created some beautiful hats for the new series.
Fashion historian Sara Gonzalez of Ensembles of the Past provided beautiful reproduction fabric and notions used to create some of the garments worn on the new show.
To join in the fun, you will need to have a Netflix membership as this is where the new series will be shown.
A few days before the event you will need to sign up on Teleparty, which is a free service that organizes Netflix watch parties.
Additional details will be posted in the upcoming weeks.

1860s Sheer Dresses

1860s Sheer Dresses

Earlier this week I shared this charming Early American video. It features a beautiful garden, farm animals and a colonial kitchen. Justine, the talented cook, is wearing her new favorite late Regency era apron. It was made by yours truly. Can you guess who made it?

Friday Favorites Flag Day this Sunday, June 14th celebrate with simple patriotic touches you can create throughout your home.
