Hello sweet friends! I am so excited to share this post with you. Recently, I traveled to Marshfield, Missouri for the annual Cherry Blossom Festival. While there I hosted a Dinner With The Cast Of Little House.
Little House Homecoming
The Cherry Blossom Festival features several special events over the course of a few days. The Little House gang kicked off the festival by attending the permiere of a fabulous new documentary, Little House Homecoming, by Parker Productions. The film explores the continuing fandom that surrounds Laura Ingalls Wilder, her books, historical sites, museums and the Little House on the Prairie television series.
I had created a special dress to wear to the premiere inspired by one Laura wore in 1942.
My dear friend, Olan Paz, created this wonderful artwork to present to the Parker family.
Front left to right, esteemed LIW historian William Anderson, me, Jonathan’s sweet daughter, the talented Richard Thomas ~ JOHNBOY, dear Anne Rajotte, and Jonathan Parker with his lovely wife and son.
The Farmhouse
The dinner was held at an amazing farmhouse just outside of Marshfield.
The accompanying barn was built in 1902.
Who wants to gather and sing Bringing In The Sheaves?
The Table Setting
Taking a cue from the official color of the festival the table was dressed in various shades of pink and white.
As we were breaking bread in a rental home with 20 diners some accomidations were made for the ease of cleanup.
You can see what was served in this short reel.
The Golden Hour
The guests arrived during the golden hour. It was the perfect time to take a few cast photos.
Shown left to right are Jenn Steffin and Michelle Steffin (Young Rose Wilder), Dean Butler (Almanzo Wilder) Jennifer Donati (baby Rose Wilder) Wendi Lou Lee (baby Grace) and Pamela Roylance (Sarah Carter).
In this happy image we have Hector and Trisha from Casa Bella Creations joining in on the fun and the amazing Jen Brallier smiling between Wendi and Pam. Jen’s sweet mother Sondra is next to me on the far left.
Then the party really started when Alison Arngrim (Nellie Oleson) arrived.
Who’s going to do the cooking?
Everyone pitched in. Jen sure knows her way around a kitchen.
Sondra, Jen, myself and Trisha are all wearing LHOTP inspired aprons. The patterns will be coming soon. Stay tuned!
Dean was team lead on the clean up crew.
A Fun Video
Today’s video features some lovely and funny moments of the cast, a dinner party hootenany and much more.
If you wish to view the video in a larger format just click on the black box in the lower right hand corner that says Watch on YouTube.
Upcoming Event
I am very excited to announce that the Little House 50th Costume Collection will be at the Little House on the Prairie Cast Reunion in California Gold Country. All the details and tickets can be found HERE.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Laura
Such fun photos, Laura! The dress you wore on the day of the premiere was so lovely and reminded me of Laura Ingalls Wilder! Congratulations and have a blast on your upcoming Little House adventure! See ya in July!
Love Michelle Underwood
This looks lovely. I’m guessing you made the party favors on the plates — l ooks like you (and I might have missed that somewhere along the way!) Did you do the aprons, too?? It’s all so pretty and I know you were in Seventh Heaven!
Laura loved seeing cast members and you always look so authentic with your clothing. I know you enjoyed yourself immensely. Thanks for sharing and have a great week. You are looking so well, please take care. Hugs and Blessings always
