Sewing A Prairie Dress

Hello sweet friends, welcome to the second installment of the Country Girls Sew Along. This week the focus is on Sewing A Prairie Dress.

Country Girls Catch Up

If you are just jumping in you may want to start at the begining. You can find the introductory post HERE.

There is also a post HERE that discusses the patterns, covers fabric selection, as well as what tools you might need.

Week 1 Country Girls Sew Along

I like to offer various learning styles. If you enjoy step by step written instructions then follow the guide that is included in the patterns that we are using.

I found the instructions for Simplicity 3723 for adults to be clear and concise. A beginner could sew View A with a bit of assistance from someone with some sewing experience.

A completely beginner project would be the apron shown in View B. Followed by the bonnet in View A.

You can find a video for sewing an apron HERE.

The accompanying video provides a visual step by step tutorial of Simplicity 3725 for children.

This Week’s Video

This week’s video is a longest video that I have every made. It comes in at 1 hour and 47 minutes. But given that the dress itself took me a little under 16 hours to make this was a good consolidation of the sewing steps.

If you wish to view the video in a larger format just click on the black box in the lower left hand corner that says Watch on YouTube.

I am excited to reveal the dress next week!

Happy stitching!
