Hello sweet friends, I hope that a beautiful spring has arrived at your doorstep. I’ve been immersed in all things floral. I hope you enjoy Friday Favorites Darling Buds of May.
The Magic of Mulberry House
One of my favorite accounts to follow on Instagram is Mulberry House. Leah Lane documents her charming pastoral life in an early Georgian home located in Surrey, England.
May Day All Month
Do you celebrate May Day? May the first has long been celebrated as the midway point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. Little baskets or cones are filled with flowers and given to friends and neighbors to commemorate the day.
However, I am a big believer that gifts of flowers need not be relagated to just one day. I think such a basket would be welcome on Mother’s Day as well.
I adore these pretty printable flower cones from Ella Claire.
Or even gifting a lovely paper flower tag on a bottle of lemonade or tucked into a sweet book.
Cottage Style Garden Bed
I love to see gardens that are a work in progress. Because truly gardening is just that! This post features a three year journey of creating a charming cottage garden.
Friday Favorites Darling Buds of May
Lately I have been on an H.E. Bates journey. His lovely novels and short stories were generally set in the early to mid 20th century of England. He grew up in the country and adored flowers and gardening. His writing often showcased this deep seated love.
His book, The Darling Buds Of May is set in Kent which is often referred to as the Garden of England.
Many of his books were transformed into some of the most beloved television shows of the 1990s. The charming comedy The Darling Buds Of May was set in the 1950s and starred Catherine Zeta-Jones.
It’s available to watch on BritBox, Dailymotion and YouTube.
It was also recently remade as The Larkins, which I wrote about HERE.
I just finished watching My Uncle Silias. It only ran for two seasons for a total of 12 episodes.
Albert Finney stars as a boisterous uncle who takes care of his 10 year old nephew for the summer. TIP: The humor is British bawdiness at its finest.
You can find it on Amazon, Tubi and, Apple Tv, YouTube and more.

I love adding edible flowers to cakes. This delicious post shares 11 beautiful ideas.
In Case You Missed It
Over on the Decor To Adore Instagram I contemplated on whether to add a canopy or a crown above the daybed in the new guestroom.
Then on my personal Instagram I shared making tucks on a new apron for the Fashionista.
