Hello, sweet friends winter has come roaring into my neck of the woods. Sweet Guy, now back at college, had been without heat since Sunday. It’s been in the teens so he was dressing in layers and I was able to find a space heater. Thankfully it was finally restored yesterday. The Fashionista has had no oven or hot water due to extreme cold versus natural gas issues. Yesterday, I picked up her laundry and Ponyboy who was so excited to be in a warm car. We’re preparing for another week of cold so here’s to Friday Favorites Winter Wonderland.

This winter garden at Le Prieuré de Vauboin, France is so lovely with its frost-covered topiaries.
A Cozy Breakfast
I’ve found a local baker that makes good gluten free bread and can’t wait to make this baked butter pecan French toast.
House Warming Scented Fire Starters
For those of you recycling your real Christmas trees you may want to consider taking the pine and making some charming fire starters.
Winter Watching
This list of 75 winter themed movies includes many of my frosty favorites.

Ponyboy is too cute for words. I hope everything goes well in the heating line for your kids. It sounds grim down there. Lots of very cute links!

Laura, Do you have any use for three old, actually worn, sunbonnets that you could give away or perhaps use for display at a museum or someplace.? I know you are making new ones for the Little House storefront. One is tiny white polka dots on blue, one is a lighter denim-type fabric and one is blue and white gingham. They are all women’s size and each is a different type. If so, I’ll send them to you. Maybe you’d enjoy just looking at them. I still haven’t unpacked cartons in the garage, and I have one more room to finish remodeling here. (I now realize that all those things will not fit inside this small house.)
I like your little dachshund. Adorable. I thought the photo of the charming house and topiary-trimmed trees surrounding it in France was a painting at first as it looks like a fairy tale. Aren’t those fire-starters charming? I love them. Oh, that pecan French toast…looks divine.
