Enchanted Halloween Forest Dollar Store Craft

Hello dear friends. I have had an assortment of dollar store and Target $1 spot items on my kitchen island for about 2 weeks. I finally had a chance over the weekend to transform them into an Enchanted Halloween Forest Dollar Store Craft.

Back in September I found some cute glitter trees at the dollar store. I thought they would look cute on the kitchen shelf along with the Hansel and Gretel houses I had made back in 2018. Target is still offering these paintable wooden houses a few times a year in their $1 spot.

The Supplies

Now I don’t really think this needs a tutorial but here are the supplies that I used.

  • Glitter trees
  • Styrofoam pumpkins (I used some old ones I already had that were discolored/lost their stems, etc.)
  • Craft glue
  • Glitter
  • Paintbrush

Glitter trees

Use a paintbrush to apply basic craft glue all over the top surface of the pumpkin. Then sprinkle the glitter over a white sheet of paper that is creased in the middle so that you can easily pour the excess glitter back into the container. Once the top half is dry, repeat the process for the bottom of the pumpkin.

It’s a big old glitter bomb.

A big mess

Just keep glittering…just keep glittering.

I added glitter to the wooden bases of the trees because I am extra that way.

Needing a bit of height I stuck a few of the trees into pumpkins.

Once I got the enchanted forest in place it was still missing something. The Fashionista said I needed some bats.

She was right!

I found a free template and printed it out.

It’s a bit of fun and whimsy that makes me smile whenever I come into the kitchen.

Spooktacular

When it turns to dusk I turn on the flameless tea lights and candy garland.

I’m going to take the next few days off to try and finish Caroline Ingalls black and white dress, a hat to go with it, as well as one more costume for the Star Wars themed Halloween party we’ll be attending.

See you soon!

This is five-star delightful, Laura! I love the colorful houses and putting some of the trees into the pumpkins for height is pretty brilliant. You could do that for Christmas too — just paint the pumpkins so they’d look like planters. They look absolutely perfect on your shelf and the lighting up is so delightfully spooky!

The glittering of the pumpkins really is what makes this all so cute! Isn’t glitter the best? Except when little bit of it wind up all over your house, lol. Thanks for sharing!

I am so loving the sparkles and the bottle brush trees poked into the pumpkins! I’ve never seen that done before and I’m going to have to try it for sure. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm. xo Kathleen
