My plans this past week were to completely redo two flower beds. That, laughingly, did NOT happen. Our heat index has been in the 115 degree Fahrenheit range. There’s more of the same to come this week. It doesn’t even cool down at night. The shutters at Storybook Cottage have been shut up tight to keep the heat out and the A/C in. It makes for rather gloomy rooms. So, I’ve been dreaming of cooler climates and color palates. Here’s to Sunday Smiles 106.
Sunday Smiles 106
The BEFORE and AFTER photos featured in this lovely Norwegian cabin showcase the amazing power of paint.
Beaded Dragonfly Ornaments
I rarely see dragonflies anymore. But when I do they always bring a smile to my face. These ornaments would look lovely hanging in a window, attached to a napkin ring and so much more.
Restoring Belvoir Castle
Belvoir Castle dates back to the eleventh century. The current Duchess of Rutland recently organized an extensive renovation of this gem.
Chicken Hummus Naan Wraps
These delicious looking wraps are on the menu to make this Wednesday. I cannot wait!
Arteperpiacere created a charming guest room in the tiniest of spaces. Normally I wouldn’t recommend such large artwork. But it magically draws the eye up and around the room in this instance.
What To Watch
I’m always on the hunt for shows that Mr. Decor and I can watch together. Great Canal Journeys is absolutely fabulous. We are so inspired and planning a trip of our own.
In Case You Missed It
I’m trying to beat the heat in cool cotton frocks.
This Week’s Video
There were a few big sewing fails and some epic nature footage captured by Sweet Guy in this week’s video.
If you wish to view the video in a larger format just click on the black box in the lower left hand corner that says Watch on YouTube.
I’m still posting on a slower summer pace.
I’ll see you soon!

That cabin is so dreamy, I love it how compact and beautiful it is in the after. Wonder why you don’t see dragonflies? They’re all over the place here now. I wish you cool weather…..soon!

Laura, 115 degrees should be against the law. That’s the same thing I told my sister when I was working for her in Ohio and she told me the office opened at 7:00 a.m. I watched Cold Comfort Farm twice. Loved it.
I love that house.
