Hello sweet friends! Today I am participating in the Cozy Winter Blog Hop hosted by Amber of Follow The Yellow Brick Home. If you are coming over from Common Ground I am so glad that you are here. Wasn’t Debra’s hearth absolutely gorgeous? Today I will be featuring A Cozy Winter Kitchen here at Storybook Cottage.
A Cozy Winter Kitchen
After all the bright and glittery décor of the holidays I am always ready for soothing neutrals in the new year.
I started with the antique kitchen shelf.
Pinecones, snowflakes and various vintage elements are gathered together.
This jolly snowman was actually a decorator pick I found in the after clearance bins.
Shop The Post
Over on the table the Friendly Village dishes mingle with modern doxie salt and pepper shakers found at Target a few years ago. They are wearing sweaters so I think it works.
I love setting a pretty table.
Especially when dinner is going to be very simple.
The kitchen window is sporting some reinvented curtains. They once hung in our Phoenix home. I simply shortened them with one quick seam.
I can simply unpick the stitches if I ever need a longer curtain.
Instant Cozy Out Of A Can
Nothing is cozier on a cold night than warm soup.
I cut up/add whatever leftover potatoes I have on hand (baked, mashed, scalloped) to a ready made potato soup. It looks and tastes homemade.
I hope you have enjoyed my cozy kitchen!
I’ll be back on Friday to make a teapot cozy from scraps.
Up next is Our Southern Home. You won’t want to miss Christy’s cozy winter decor.

Laura,
Your winter kitchen is just lovely! I adore the snowy china. Quick question for you about your counters. We are looking at new counters now. Are yours quartz? If so what brand and color did you use? Are you happy with them?

I love your cozy kitchen, Laura — and your cozy dinner looks just perfect! Soup, tea, and what’s the little pie-like thing? Pot pie? Dessert? No matter — all lovely!

Love your wonderful winter table, Laura. Your tea cozy is so romantic and one-of-a-kind special. And the Doxie salt and pepper is too cute. What a fun find for you!! I love snowmen in January, and your kitchen shelf is the perfect spot for fun decor. Hope you’re having a great January! Love coming by to visit!

I love your kitchen, such a beautiful space since the makeover. Dinner looks amazing. I love potato soup, so this is a great idea to take leftovers and make a heart potato soup. Your kitchen shelf is such a fun place to decorate, love all the changes.

I did enjoy your cozy kitchen! Loved the salt and pepper shakers for sure and your dishes look amazing on your white table. How fun to be able to decorate that little shelf each season or holiday? So fun! Soup is fabulous when it’s cold. I need a good recipe for a hardy soup. For some reason I crave either chicken pot pie or mashed potatoes when I’m cold. 😉 So glad I got to hop with you and see your beautiful new kitchen again.

Just took my Girl Scouts on our annual cozy overnight – snow, crocheting, making valentines, and lots of hot tea, cocoa, and marshmallows. Now you’ve made me think we need a couple of tea cozies for our teapots!

Laura, I received my winning package today! I hadn’t been to the post office in a week. I walked up today which was rather exhilarating. I was so lucky to be the winner. The incredible quality of everything is inspiring. I am absolutely thrilled to have something in my house that you made and astonished by every careful detail. I am going to write you tonight. All the creativity deserves a handwritten letter and I want to tell you how I am going to incorporate the gorgeous (BEAUTIFUL) apron into my home. It is too good to wear. There is no way that I would use that while cooking.
I like all the natural colors you are using in your home. The soft hues really are cozy. The remind me of everything natural, like the woods and fields. Love the dachshund shakers!!
