Hello sweet friends! Welcome to the April edition of the Pinterest Challenge. This monthly event is hosted by the amazing Cindy of County Road 407. If you are coming over from Bluesky At Home let me say, “Welcome to Storybook Cottage”. Today’s post features A Basket Of Spring Blooms.
A Basket Of Spring Blooms
This month the challenge was to create a charming spring basket. Our lovely inspiration photo comes from Emily of LeCultivateur.
The image features:
- A Basket
- Various Spring Blooms
- A Rabbit
- Pots
I really love the basket Emily used. The next time I am at Ikea I will probably pick one up! It reminded me of some of the antique baskets I have. In fact, I know I have a post where I put daffodils and moss in one of the baskets. But of course, I couldn’t find that post. But I found this post and another post that feature the baskets too.
A Georgian Garden
Back in January, I decided to create a Georgian (Regency Era) garden that would feature the plants and flowers that Jane Austen wrote about in her books and personal letters. My first focus was the area behind the she-shed.
Over the past few months, I have been hard at work and the fruits of my labor are starting to blossom.
English country gardens can look a bit “weedy” until they are in full bloom. It should be lovely in another 2-4 weeks.
I have so many peony buds this year! The climbing rose is laden with buds too.
It’s time to weed the bricks!
Back To The Challenge
My images feature:
- A Basket
- Various Spring Blooms
- A doxie
- Pots on a potting bench
I thought the best place for a basket of garden flowers would be on the door of the shed.
The basket was found at Hobby Lobby a few years ago.
Flowers currently blooming in my yard include hydrangeas, roses, sweet William, tulips, hyacinths, carnations, and more.
I had an audience when I first came over to the potting bench to arrange the flowers.
He left after I told him I didn’t need any insurance.
Six-month-old Pony hopes you have enjoyed this in-progress tour.

I’m loving your garden now — and can’t wait to see the full-flowering version as the season moves along. Weeding the bricks is definitely a pain, though! Beautiful blooms and they look lovely in the baskets and the pitcher, to.o. I’m wondering if your sweet shelf is inside or out? If it’s in, you have great light within! Love the dishes on the shelves, too!
Have a wonderful week, Laura. It looks like your world is waking up. I hope ours does soon!

Well how adorable is your she-she?! The garden around it, shutters, curtains and the added hanging basket on the door are so springy and beautiful! I’d love spending time in there. Do you have a/c in there? I’d come visit if you did. LOL. Happy spring Laura. pinned
