Hello sweet friends! I hope that you all are well. Sweet Guy and I have been very busy with end of year schoolwork. Next week will contain three nerve-wracking Advanced Placement exams. Fingers crossed and prayers appreciated. If he passes they will count for three full college credit classes. We are hopeful that after the tests he will “graduate” from high school with a semester and a half of college under his belt. We are more than ready to do the smarty pants dance. I definitely will have some cake! Let’s take a look at some lovely things on Saturday Smiles The Great.
A Darling Kitchen Renovation
This kitchen renovation was done for $8K which is a great price for the most expensive room in the house. I LOVE the vintage exhaust hood.
Garden Markers
I love these garden markers. There is not a direct link to the original source but I am thinking paint stirrers and old scrabble letters.
South Of France
This complete home renovation in the South of France is absolutely stunning.
Orange Cream Cookies
Oh my yum these orange cream cookies look so delectable to me!
Saturday Smiles The Great
If you have been following my Instagram account and stories you may have already seen this darling little kitty. The four-week-old ginger boy is a recent rescue. He was found in really bad shape by my daughter’s significant other at his home in the country. Sadly, no mom was found. But we are happy to report his wounds are healing very nicely and he now weighs a pound. No name has been selected yet.
I, of course, have already sent my sweet Grand Kitty a care package.
May you have a purrfect weekend!

That kitten is SO cute! My son just got his first cat, but she’s 2 years old, I think. That happened before all this virus stuff, and we were so glad that he has her since he lives alone. I do hope and pray your son does well on all his exams. How cool to start college ahead of the game!

Maybe the fashionista will decide to keep this sweet one forever. I’ll tell you from experience that when you have a wee orange boy who grows up, they grow into the most loving creatures of all time. I’d like to say it was just my wonderful cat training but I’ve heard other orange moms say the same thing!
I think I have to make those markers!

Sending up prayers that your Sweet Boy aces all his exams! The Fashionista’s sweet marmalade kitty is so sweet. Speaking of orange, I may have to make the orange cream cookies! xoxo

Congratulations on end of year success, Laura. I’ll be thinking of Sweet Guy as he tests for AP credit. You grandkitty is adorable. Those cookies look good. In my COVIDcooking, I made orange scones last week which, I must say, rival Panera’s, my favorite until now! Even Mr. Picky P loved them! Have a good week, my friend.

Your posts always make me smile! And that precious little kitty, your daughter and her guy are lovely people to help and nurture it. I had a cat when I was about ten years old. It was inside/outside. It became pregnant twice–I have no idea why my parents didn’t have her spayed but that was country life. I helped her birth those babies and cared for them with remarkable maturity for a young girl. I had one die at 3 weeks and solemnly buried it. But it’s a great life experience for anyone to learn how to respect nature and living animals, and give their heart and best shot in a hard situation. Send them my love and a big bravo!
