How is everyone? Have the trees started to bud in your hometown? The sixteen oak trees at Storybook Cottage are well on their way. Here’s to Sunday Smiles Seeking Spring.
Sunday Smiles Seeking Spring
The spring home tours are well underway. My favorite so far comes is hosted by George, the Babydoll Southdown sheep, from Little Farmstead.
Farmer In The Belle
James Farmer has beautifully restored an Antebellum plantation home in Alabama.
Spring Soup
It’s still a bit cool here. I enjoy making a tasty soup for Saturday lunch. There are 15 recipes in THIS POST. The Lemony Orzo soup was delicious and I can’t wait to try the Carrot and Ginger.
Keep A Friendly Feed and Watch Parties
Friends I allow myself a bit of time each morning and evening on Facebook and Instagram. I have to say that I have muted quite a few Negative Nonnies by hitting the “Snooze for 30 Days” tab on FB. As for those on IG that have been ignoring the pleas to flatten the curve and STAY HOME but instead brag about their new… fill in the blank… pillow, vase, etc. Well, I’ve decided not to support this. They’ve been deleted.
Now, how great is Netflix Party for group watch parties?!
Mr. Decor and I plan on watching The English Game together.
I’ve been watching Self Made Inspired By The Life of Madam C.J. Walker. I’m on the fence at two episodes in. I LOVE Octavia Spencer. But the boxing sequences are just… not necessary.
V is for Victory!
This week my plans are to plant a Victory Garden. I have never gardened edible things in my life.
Tell me all your tips!
I will continue to share uplifting positive content on my Facebook page and Instagram posts and stories.
Stay well!

We need these smiles today. Thanks, Laura. I hope things are settling a bit.

I agree about the boxing scenes but I enjoyed the rest of the series. My number one Gardening tip is to bless your plants and all living things in the way that is best for the Highest Good for all. xoxo

In a positive move, I ordered a few tomato plants today to be delivered in late April. It’s easy and sometimes necessary to wallow a bit in our dire circumstances, but only for a short time. Life moves on, so we must move on with it.
The post on the Spring soups made me hungry. Once I can get back to the grocery store (I’m very high risk due to age and pre-existing issues) I will be trying especially the Caprese Tomato Soup. Just reading the recipe and seeing the photos told me it will be wonderful, whether using organic canned tomatoes or my tomatoes off the vine.
I hope everyone stays safe and well.

We need to be aware and then we need to turn away and find happiness in the normalcy of our lives. Thank you for the smiles, my friend!

Laura, tomatoes usually do well but you’ll need to surround and over the top of the vines with small hardware cloth to keep squirrels from eating them all! I had a bunch ready to ripen and just turning red… and then they were GONE. I’ve learned my lesson and will send for hardware cloth to build a small fortress soon. 🙂
Love the sweet little lamb! Immediately pulled up the blog and will read post. It’s late but enjoying reading a bit, too. I did go out at 6:30am to Winco today for groceries and found… toilet paper!!! The hoarders are full and now us regular people who need t.p. can buy it again. Got the few groceries we needed and headed home.
Stay safe and enjoy planting your garden! Cantaloupe, pumpkins and beans should do well here like in CA. I left my October pumpkins just sitting outfront and figured they will plant themselves.
Enjoy the week,
Barb 🙂
