Saturday Smiles Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly

Earlier this week I was shopping at Trader Joes. As I strolled through the flower section I noticed bundles of lavender for sale. The scent was heavenly. In the strange coincidence that is life shades of the hue began to appear to me resulting in Saturday Smiles Lavender Blue Dilly Dilly.

How Does Your Garden Grow

A gorgeous garden, featuring shades of lavender and white, grows near the central Lazio region north of Rome, near volcanic Lake Bolsena.

A Favorite Feed

I think you can tell what delights my heart by my Instagram feed. It features images of France, England, friends, and dachshunds. The lovely home of British freelance creative director Charlotte-Anne Fidler is a favorite. Lavender-hued skies and plants are routinely shared in her enchanting countryside postings.

A Quaint Cottage

An 18th-century cottage on the coast of Nova Scotia was in danger of being torn down when interior designer Philip Mitchell came to its rescue. The restoration took about two and a half years and resulted in a truly lovely retreat. It features shades of green, blue, and lavender.

If you are looking for a charming movie I adore the 1948 gem from Walt Disney, So Dear To My Heart. Young Jeremiah Kincaid is determined to raise a black lamb rejected by its mother. He dreams of showing wee Danny at the Pike County Fair but must overcome the objections of his grandmother. Burl Ives plays Jeremiah’s uncle and sang the theme song based on a 17th-century English folk song. The sweet tune was nominated for an Oscar.

Have a lavender-filled day!

I love that song and lavender too!

I’m reading a marvelous book I think you would love called “To the Manor Reborn” about the restoration of Avebury Manor. Check it out on Amazon or wherever. I think it’s produced by the BBC. I think of you on every page!

I love that cottage! I didn’t know that song came from a movie. I’ll have to see if the family wants to rent it some time.

The other Disney movie with Burl Ives that both my husband and I love is Summer Magic – Hayley Mills stars. Burl sings in that one too. Based on Mother Carey’s Chickens by Kate Douglas Wiggins. If you haven’t see it, it’s worth a look!

I love lavender Laura and I love the lavender blue dilly dilly. I also wrote a post about that last year. What a great song. I have to admit I have not seen the movie you suggest, that I will make it a point. Have a great day and many blessings. I love lavender Laura and I love the lavender blue dilly dilly. I spent the day at a local lavendar farm today with my dear friend Lynnette. We made lavendar wreaths and enjoyed a lunch in a quant little cafe The Makers Bakers and Builders. Then off to do a little antiqing. I came home lavender simple syrup, lavendar teas and a day full of lavendar memories.
