It is almost Thanksgiving and time to Gather ‘Round The Table.
Gather ‘Round The Table
The constant downpour of rain we received all through September and October finally seems to have abated. We are now enjoying a lovely fall here in D/FW.
Recently my husband’s good friend arrived for a weekend of quality golfing time. One evening I decided to create an outdoor dining setting.
I started with a vintage wool blanket. The thickness helps to soften the metal patio table.
I love using my Friendly Village dishes all through the fall.
For this table setting, I decided to pull out the various greens featured in the pattern.
I love the sparkle that the green goblets add.
A Simple Centerpiece
This may be my quickest centerpiece yet! I simply plopped a seasonal mum, still in its plastic nursery pot, into a canvas basket.
The casual setting was perfect for the outdoors and a happy reminder of the very first Thanksgiving.
I hope you will enjoy all of the lovely Thanksgiving ideas.
Laura
Thank you so very much to Amber from Follow The Yellow Brick Home for organizing the tour!
I love your outdoor tables cape. I use vintage wool blankets all the time! I think they look great. Thank you for sharing these beautiful links.
Laura, it’s lovely. (I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen anything here that WASN’T lovely!) But I especially love the wool blanket as table cover. It gives a fallish warmth to the entire setting that an similarly colored but not thicker cloth would provide. Splendid.
What a beautiful outdoor setting!!! Don’t you just love outdoor in the fall. It’s the perfect backdrop. Thanks for the idea with the throw!
This is so pretty and I can just imagine sitting out there on a cool Texas evening. Not this week though!! 🙂
What a fun way to sit back and relax with good friends, Laura! I love your cozy blanket and the place settings are beautiful too. Don’t even get me started on those gorgeous mums! Every detail is fabulous, including the leaves. I hope you and your family have a Happy Thanksgiving, Hugs, CoCO
It’s lovely Laura! I want to come sit with you out there. I think this Thanksgiving we could really sit outside! Not that we will. We need to be closer to the food. LOL. Happy Thanksgiving!
Laura, lucky lucky you to be able to dine alfresco! Too cold , wet and windy here in Pittsburgh. Love that you used a blanket as a tablecloth. Would love to have a seat outdoors at this fun table.
I am so in love with the outdoor table. Love the dishes with the color linen napkin. You styled this table so beautifully.
Oh there is so much about this I love! I would love to have fall lunch with you in this beautiful setting! The blanket is gorgeous and Friendly Village is one of my favorite patterns. The colors you chose are amazing! I am also crushing on that canvas basket.
We had a very late fall arrival here in KY that was short lived (it’s snowing today!) I hop e you have some beautiful fall days to enjoy this lovely setting dear friend!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I love it, Laura! I bet you were so excited to have weather suitable for outdoors, and to be able to use that gorgeous throw with your Friendly VIllage. It’s lovely.
I love Friendly Village. It’s perfect for fall. I’m so glad it stopped raining. It sure is cold. Your outdoor picnic is wonderful.
Laura,
Your outdoor Fall table is beautiful with its wool blanket tablecloth and chrysanthemum centerpiece in the French canvas bag. Most Falls in north Texas are so pleasant we can actually enjoy these kinds of outdoor settings. But, today the temperature is 35° and headed to a hard freeze in the 20s tonight. Brrr. I feel pretty certain we will see warmer days again before we settle into the winter cold.
Happy Thanksgiving, dear freind,
Judith
Ohhh!!! Who wouldn’t enjoy a lovely fall meal outdoors at this pretty table? I love how you used a blanket as a tablecloth and the combination of the woven chargers with your Friendly Village plates looks so good. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.
Laura, the simple elegance is lovely! I have Friendly Village dishes too. I especially love your wicker chargers. Happy to be joining you on the tour! Blessings, Cecilia @ My Thrift Store Addiction
I think everybody loved your choice of that thick wool blanket for an Autumn tablescape. I’ve never seen anyone use one like that before and it seems so fresh and cozy.
Laura, what a lovely table. It is perfect. Your blanket says, “come stay awhile.” I am sure the food and conversation was the best.
Happy day to you!
What a relaxed and cozy tablescape. What was on the menu? I keep picturing pie.
Laura, I love your beautiful blanket as the tablecloth! And think I need to keep an eye out for those Friendly Village square bowls now…;) Fun to be hopping with you again! Happy Thanksgiving!
Laura, your outdoor tablescape is so warm and inviting! I love how you used a blanket as your tablecloth. Your plates are simply divine. I love how you coordinated your napkins and glasses. I love fun and pretty way you organized your silverware and a pumpkin on each plate. So happy to be hopping with you!
Your al fresco table setting is lovely. I love the canvas bag – is it a recent purchase I might still be able to find?
Beautiful table with the plaid throw. I love the outdoors surroundings.
I posted my Thanksgiving with a plaid throw as well.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Will pin it.

Your table is so beautiful. I love the plates with the pops of green in them that are accented by the green goblets! Very pretty! Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving!
That blanket is fabulous! I actually used a plaid wool blanket from our honeymoon in Ireland as the Thanksgiving tablecloth. Those dishes are gorgeous. Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm. Pinned! xo Kathleen|Our Hopeful Home
What a gorgeous table! I love the Friendly Village dishes too, and use them through the winter. They are one of my favorite patterns. The vintage wool blanket provides the perfect underpinning for your table, and a beautiful mum makes the perfect centerpiece. Happy Thanksgiving!!!
