Fall officially begins this Friday, September 22. I thought you might enjoy a bit of fabulous inspiration for fall decorating from the recent Fall Home Tours.
I have organized the inspiration under various categories.
Fabulous Inspiration For Fall Decorating
Bring A Bit Of The Outdoors In
It’s All About The Pumpkin
Add Interest Through A Variety Of Textures
Use Unexpected Colors
This fall dining room by April of House By Hoff hit all the right notes for fabulous fall inspiration.
Bring A Bit Of The Outdoors In
Darlene of Hymns & Verses nestled oak leaves in an old scale along with some pears and pinecones.
Seeded eucalyptus, pears, and pinecones provide fabulous fall contrast on this tiered tray from Kim at Tidbits & Twine.
I absolutely adore that Julia from Cuckoo 4 Design incorporated expected seasonal colors with the unexpected addition of peppers.
It’s All About The Pumpkin
Debbie of Refresh Restyle did not let the lack of real pumpkins deter her from fall decorating. She paired a faux pumpkin with seed pods, feathers and leaves to set a lovely scene.
This sweater pumpkin from Cristina of Remodelando la Casa is completely adorable! I spy a trip to Goodwill to hunt for knitted goodness in my future.
Alicia of Thrifty & Chic incorporates pumpkins for her mantle decor. As well as on top of stacks of books and gathered in a metal tray.
Add Interest Through A Variety Of Textures
So much of fall features neutral colors. You can create additional interest by incorporating a wide variety of textures into your seasonal vignettes.
These traditional fall colors of browns, gold and green below are beautifully balanced. Carmel of Our Fifth House paired the rough textures of the wood table and sunflowers petals with the smooth drinking glasses and flower vases.
Jenn of Clean & Scentsible also creates textural interest by using pine cones, cotton bolls, and even a metal colander.
Barbara of 21 Rosemary Lane presents a beautiful autumnal scene featuring a quilt, burlap, and berries.
Use Unexpected Colors
It is always a fabulous idea to think outside the box and incorporate unexpected colors for the season. Sarah of Life On Virginia Street pairs non-traditional beautiful blues with chartreuse.
Deb of Seeking Lavender Lane uses unpolished silver to provide a lovely patina that enhances the patterned feathers. But the entire vignette just pops with the addition of the purple velvet pumpkin.
Several textures and colors are spectacularly combined in this fabulous mantle by Summer at Simple Stylings.
Thank you so very much to my dear friend Marty of A Stroll Thru Life for hosting such an amazing tour!
