Storybook Cottage Early Fall Home Tour 2016

Welcome to the Storybook Cottage Early Fall Home Tour 2016. I am so happy to be participating in the weeklong Fall Home Tours hosted by my dear friend Marty from A Stroll Thru Life. If you are stopping by after visiting Barbara’s gorgeous home at 21 Rosemary Lane  I want to say that I am so glad that you are here.

It is still quite warm in my neck of the woods so I’ve opted for cool colors and light neutrals for this early fall tour.

The Entryway

In the entryway, I have gathered a few fall favorites.Fall Home Tour 2016 entryway

Thrift store silver and a vintage container are paired with painted pumpkins.

The Living Room

The soft shades continue in the living room.Fall Home Tour 2016 topiary

In late June I found this art canvas on deep clearance as the paint had rubbed off in several areas. I just touched it up and it looks as good as new hung above the mantel.Fall Home Tour 2016 painting

Autumnal goodness: velvet pumpkins and tarnished gold acorns.Fall Home Tour 2016 acorns

The layout of the living room has not changed since last years tour.

The Kitchen

The kitchen received touches of blue and hints of warm yellow.Fall Home Tour 2016 kitchen

The yellow also works well with the new tablecloth and napkins I recently made.Fall Home Tour 2016 tablecloth

The fabric came from KariAnne of Thistlewood Farms. It was a gorgeous prize that I received for winning the recent Sweet Tea Challenge.Fall Home Tour 2016 centerpiece

I enjoyed your fall tour, Laura. So much to see and enjoy! I am impressed with your sewing!! Your patchwork napkins and pinwheel centerpiece would take me forever to finish. You love it and thrive in this area.
The tier tray party sounds like fun. I hope I can participate but will enjoy viewing if I can't get one together.

This was a great post for me. As a recent transplant from the Midwest to a warmer coastal climate, I am learning how to incorporate the seasons in a more subtle way in our home. My new color palette, blue and white, is also different for me. Different, but also exciting in that it opens me up to new options and combinations that weren't in my wheel house until now. Thank you for planting the seeds of fall with blues and softer shades.

    Laura,
What a refreshing look for Fall…. blues. Your first photo of the topiary with the pears and leaves called my name immediately. The Sweet Tea quilt top is perfect as a tablecloth for your Fall colors.

Thanks for linking up to our first Monday Social. This post will be a great one to link up next week.
