Autumnal Splendor at the Japanese Garden

I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to view the Autumnal Splendor at the Japanese Garden. It is located at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

The Japanese Maples were all draped in scarlet and gold.

The seven-acre garden was built in 1973. It was once a rock quarry that underwent a magnificent transformation.

Kyoto Style

The landscape is done in the Kyoto style.

Quite a few bridges can be traversed.

I loved the sound of this gorgeous waterfall.

It spilled into a peaceful lake.

The Imperial Carp (koi) that swim in the ponds and lake were stupendous.

Perhaps even too big for a nice lunch for this Great Blue Heron.

There were several different meandering paths to take.

It was almost impossible to not feel Zen after walking along one or two.

Several simple stone Asian structures dot the landscape.

My adorable companion and I made sure to take a few moments to reflect on the beauty.

Lovely! So that's where Autumn went – to Texas! 😉
Here, all of the trees are bare now pretty much. Winter is settling in for the duration it seems with little breaks like today and tomorrow when the warmth of 50s returns and rain. Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos.

Hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

    Love, Linda

Just beautiful! If you ever find yourself in Richmond, Virginia, be sure to visit the Japanese Garden at Maymont, because it is very similar to this one- a huge waterfall (with a path that goes to the top), a large koi-filled lake, a half-moon bridge, stepping stones going across the water, and even a little gazebo that's right on the water. Just gorgeous. My kids love getting lost in the bamboo forests around it as well. And there's a path that goes up to the Italian Garden from there, which is also beautiful!

It's really fun in the summer to go to an outdoor evening concert at the gardens. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra puts on some great shows including fireworks. People bring their picnic dinners and enjoy them there before the concert starts. Some really get fancy! And it's not always just orchestra music. We saw a really good Beatles style group there one time.

Oh my goodness , the most beautiful place and photos. Monet would approve, I am sure. The fashionista looks great, living up to her name.
