It has been awhile since I viewed a home where each and every room made me smile.
Recently a home in Baton Rouge, Louisianna, built by architect Bobby McAlpine with interior designs by Ray Booth, was featured in Architectural Digest and boy did I grin.
The house is done in the Cape Dutch style which was prevalent in old Amsterdam and its surrounding villages.
The house took over five years to plan and build and it’s easy to see why.
Oh this tub! Did you also notice all the amazing artwork throughout the home?
I will soon start sharing the transformation of my dated kitchen and yes, get ready for light and bright!
Sneak peek of kitchen curtains on Friday,

That house is lovely, however I am happy not to have to make those box beds or climb up into the tub. Or worse, try to get out of the tub.
I look forward to your white, light and bright kitchen.

Gorgeous! I showed my husband your family room and he said, “Can we get her to come to NC?”

That house is pretty, but it looks too pristine for my taste. I much prefer our comfortable, cozy, lived-in look. : )

What a lovely showpiece. I wonder how big a crew they have to come in and wash the windows? And who makes those beds in the walls (because I would soon be ripping those charmers out if it was me that was doing that chore! lol It is very light and open living space.
I wonder if it is laziness or old age that makes me look at a space now and wonder about how practical it would be. 🙂
