Day 12 Fun Fall Crafts For Kids

Do your kids help you decorate for fall? Since my kids were home from school this week we enjoyed several fun fall activities. This post shares Day 12 Fun Fall Crafts For Kids.

Day 12 Fun Fall Crafts For Kids

To kick things off for a fun fabulous fall week we went to Disneyland. Let me tell you, the happiest place on earth delivers some of the happiest inspiration for fall.

Mickey

Every inch of the park was covered in holiday happiness.

I had a few ideas up my sleeve so that the return to our own castle wouldn’t be too much of a letdown.

We took a trip to our local pumpkin patch and selected some perfect specimens for carving and made time to meander through a corn maze. Yummy cider was enjoyed, as well as the making of the annual pumpkin roll.

We all agreed that our dining room table could use a bit more autumnal décor. I scrounged through the very last of my fall décor and could only find a bag of dried acorn caps. Hmmmm. Pinterest to the rescue.

So the kids put on their painting clothes and I pressed play on the “Happy Harvest” playlist.

It was such fun to spend an afternoon painting together. We used several different Folkart metallic paints: champagne, bronze, glorious gold, pearl white, and aluminum.

Once the paint had completely dried the hot glue gun was fired up and the acorn caps were attached to the wooden knobs. Easy peasy.

Sweet Boy sprinkled the “acorns” throughout the house like confetti.

It’s been a fun week but this mama is looking forward to school on Monday.

    They don't, at all… ever.
When I suggest – already excited and dreamy – they roll their eyes and think “Here she goes… again”.
I baffle them with my need to redecorate. For them if it's nice why change?!
If you want to drive my daughter crazy is pressing her to tell what theme she wants for her birthday tablescape… now, as defense, she says “Mum, don't stress. Just throw some paper plates, plastic cups and we're done”. (after which she sees me fainting and figures that's what we'll end up having ahahahaha)
My boy is more sensitive (to my needs) and though he doesn't mention it he notices and if I soldier him he'll join MY party and help… she'll do anything to prove she has 10 thumbs so I can discharge her quickly ahahah
They're like DH. If I ask they'll do, or help, but willingly give ideas or suggest change? Not so much.

Or beautiful, large bead-acorns? That's my idea for my acorn caps… when I pick them myself in that special little spot in Mizzou.

Pearly acorns? Made my day. Oh! Sharing these… SOOO sharing this post with my all-grownup girls!

Haha! You sound like me. “great project kids!” and after I'm done, and though it was fun, I'm ready for some time alone! Wow, who would have known those were wooden knobs? I thought they were pearls. SO PRETTY. Love them!
