All Things Irish Festive Fare

Today’s post covers All Things Irish Festive Fare.
Green is my favorite color. I love to set the table for St. Patrick’s Day dinner. You can create mini votives by coring an apple and adding a candle.

All Things Irish Festive Fare

I love the elegant simplicity of this Celtic tablecloth created with a stencil and fabric paint.

If my children are good, a leprechaun might leave a few gold coins sprinkled next to their place setting.

Irish Recipes

Continuing the simple theme is the sweet addition of a single clover into a twine tined napkin. Colcannon, a traditional Irish potato dish, is enhanced by a few drops of green food coloring.
Irish recipes

The menu also includes corned beef and cabbage. I always make enough for corned beef sandwiches the next day~yum!

Irish recipes

I adore Irish Soda bread. My family prefers that the caraway seed and currents not be added.

Irish recipes

Mr. Decor loves this part of the meal. This year we might try some green beer.

Irish recipes

The perfect finishing touch in a house full of chocoholics is chocolate Irish creme cheesecake.

May you have the luck of the Irish!

Nah! No feast here, but I don’t ever make feasts.Love that apple idea. I’m going to save that one for Halloween and possibly with some mini pumpkins too.

We’ll be having corned beef and cabbage, and potaotes. Instead of boiling the potatoes with the beef though, I may have to make colcannon. It’s so good and I haven’t had them in awhile! Wish I was having that cheesecake!

I hadn’t thought of making a St. Patricks day feast, however after looking at all your great ideas, I may just add a few special green touches to our dinner table. Thanks so much,Darlene

Even though we are not Irish, we enjoy having corned beef & cabbage. I make it with potatoes, carrots & onions boiled right in the pot.

That all looks fantastic! I made corned beef & cabbage this weekend. It was soo good I only wish I had made 2 briskets so we would have had more for sandwiches the next day!

You are such a good poster! I am so excited about St Patricks Day now… and I can’t do anything about it!We are headed to the Eagles concert in Columbia so I won’t get to do any of the fun things I usually do so I guess I am going to live through you!

No, I am coming to yours! Especially the cheesecake. I have to agree the table cloth is beautiful. I would think it took a lot of time and a steady hand.

I had Guiness for the first time last St. Patrick’s Day. The cheescake looks heavenly….My Irish hubby loves soda bread– I make it once in a while (I add oatmeal to the bread). We like it with soup.

The tablecloth is neat idea!!! We have a Rueben casserole that is very tasty — never is a morsel left! And that cheesecake looks wonderful but ours will mostly be chocolate and minty and green. Have a Happy Saint Patricks Day! Karyl(Carol)

I’m not a fan of corned beef, so we are having Irish Beef Stew and Irish soda bread (also without the seeds and currants). This year, I think we will be having a chocoate mint cake for dessert. I love celebrating (almost anything) with food!

We seem to have a lot of traditions regarding food on hoildays. It’s our tradition to have corned beef and cabbage (and little red potatos), some green jello, rolls, and some kind of green dessert. Maybe mint chip ice cream. I even like to bake a cherry pie on George Washington’s birthday. Mimi

Beautiful Irish ideas. Mr. Cookie and all the Irish blood running through his veins enjoys a hearty dinner and a beer to chase it down with. I have never made him Irish Soda bread I might just do that this year.

That looks like such a lovely meal!My husband and youngest daughter will be having corned beef with all the sides, while I will be enjoying just the potatoes and carrots with my older daughter (she’s not much of a meat eater). That’s about as far as I can go this year, as I am still a bit nauseated in my pregnancy. 🙂

I love your Irish collection! I’ll be doing something similar tomorrow. We had corned beef and cabbage over the weekend with my in-laws and I’ll be making reuben sandwiches tomorrow night. And, of course, we’ll both probably enjoy a Guinness. That was the thing that I craved the most when I was pregnant with my first son. Major bummer!Kimba

What a nice post! I love green as well. I can’t wait till that spring day when I wake up and all the trees have leaves on again and the grass looks so soft and green. It won’t be long but I can hardly wait. Your dinner sounds wonderful. I have to admit that I have never made corned beef and cabbage before. I will have to try it someday soon.Have a lovely evening.

    Hi Jennifer,

I don't have access to your profile. 🙁
So hopefully you will come back here.
If you google “Celtic stencils” you will find many different companies that offer several styles in a number of price ranges.

Good luck! I always thought it would be lovely to do the tablecloths for a wedding.
