Do you like my luggage holder? My suitcase is currently resting on it while I pack for my upcoming New Orleans trip.
Luggage Holder
I fished it out of a neighbors trash heap. It used to look like this:

I adore jute webbing. (Also known as burlap webbing.) It’s humble beginnings associate it with upholstery shops. I recently bought a huge roll of it.
Burlap Webbing Projects
I’ve been collecting images on how other wonderful bloggers have used it. Super talented Debbie Hodge created this beautiful bag.

I have seen floor rugs, as well as upholstery for ottomans created by jute webbing strips that are woven. This darling table runner by Tara Dennis is also a cute way to use webbing.

I have also seen the webbing used for numerous wreath styles, as well as other seasonal touches, like this gorgeous mantle decor created by Jill.

I love your luggage holder! When getting ready for a trip, better to lay your suitcase on this rather than your bed. Happy Travels!

Hi Laura…I didn't realize the postcard exchange was for more than one ….I think I will just do it with Deborah (Fairfield House)…just don't have enough time for it all. But so glad I found your blog and look forward to future postings…
My mom was an upholsterer and I remember helping her in the shop, using LOTS of webbing. We never would have guessed way back in the 70s that webbing would be cool someday!
Hi there ~ yes, by all means lets do the postcards:) I'll email you my address. Fantastic jute/burlap ideas. I made a fantastic candle wrapped in it a few weeks ago. Possibilities ARE endless.
How about using it like ribbon when you wrap a present? Or making placemats out of it. I think it would be cute to get some old patio furniture and redoing it with the burlap and painting the frame a red.
I would love to win your giveaway. I've always wanted to go to New Orleans. In fact, can I crawl into your suitcase and go with you 🙂
Hugs,
Joanne
Thanks for stopping by my blog, I emailed you the address.
I love give aways, thanks for letting me know about that too! 🙂

Are you saying I don't have to go to Paris and get these fabulous Macarons?????? O M G.
I never enter giveaways, really I don't, but I would adore a box of Macarons. I'm dying to put one in my mouth. I have tried to get them from Paris, but they do not ship. : ( I'm in Canada, is that ok?
I'll be sending you my address for the post card exchange gladly.
Have a great weekend Laura and nice to meet you.
Love Claudie

Love the burlap webbing ideas! This is always such a creative site. Have a wonderful trip.
It turned out nice and I love that it was free! Thanks for sharing all of the other inspiration as well. Enjoy your trip.
I have the same luggage holder, I bought at a garage sale for maybe(?) a dollar. That's a good idea to use the webbing, but more so, thanks for including the color of the paint. I'm going to refinish mine too. Have a good time in N.O. It's been so long since I have been there. I am looking forward to seeing it again through your photos.
Great inspiration! I've used burlap garland on my Christmas tree (loved it!) but I think I'd like to find some of this webbing. It has a much tighter weave. Thanks for the ideas! And for linking up to SNS.
FJ Donna
Some neat ideas. I especially love the belt.

Awesome…who would've thought all those great ideas from a simple roll of jute webbing?!!! Thanks for all of the fabulous inspiration! …and for the chance at your lovely giveaway!
🙂 T
That webbing is some cute, cute stuff! Amazing all you can do with it.
Have fun in NO & yes, enter me in the giveaway!
I really love the jute webbing – thanks for compiling all those creative pictures. And thanks for stopping by my site and leaving a comment about my guest room…comments make me all warm and fuzzy 🙂
I must–MUST–get my hands on some of that jute webbing. LOVE it. LOVE the suitcase rack. Thanks for sharing!
What great ideas you have! I use canvas drop cloths for all sorts of things and I really think some of that webbing would look really cute as trim on the drop cloths. I'm picturing pillows and curtains made of drop cloths with just trim… hmmm. Maybe I need to pull out the sewing machine!
Such lovely photo's and your Jute webbing is really nice.. I want some…

Good Morning Laura Sweetie…
As always you so inspire me to create. I have to tell you this burlap roll looks like it is going to be a necessity. I must get some. Where did you find yours? I love the pillow that was intwined with it. That would look gorgeous on my leather couch in the LR. A must have for sure.
Please enter me into your drawing. I would love the burlap. I also sure have my eye on that box of macaroon cookies. Oh my goodness gracious. You are a girl after my own heart.
Have a wonderful trip sweetie. Love your bathroom makeover too.
Country hugs and much love…Sherry
who would have thought you could make all that amazing stuff with a simple burlap.
Love the March decor header at the top of your blog. Lilly of the Valley is my favorite- good call. 🙂
I've never used burlap but would love to try something. I'd love love love macaroons. Thanks for the give-away.
Did I miss pillows? I think they're a great way to make generic, inexpensive pillows look special.
They'd look awesome as trim on a roman shade, too.
*sigh* There are too many possibilities and I have far too little time to explore them!
I'm so excited for you to be visiting New Orleans! I sure could use a box of beignet mix or a can of Cafe du Monde's French Roast Coffee : ) Can't wait to hear all about your trip! Have LOTS of fun! ~Destiny
I just love all of the webbing ideas – I have some in my sewing room right now. I'm so glad I came by, I have to make sure to put you on my visit-often list :).
Isn't it funny how one product just catches on and becomes a makeover element for so many things. I love your luggage rack makeover! I bet your neighbor wishes she had it back!
WendyBee
So Creative! This webbing is lovely – and so many uses. I just found you today, but I'll definitely be back!
I love what you did with this luggage rack. It looks great! I also liked all of your inspiration photos. I've been looking for the natural & blue webbing, but can only find the red.
I “sew” love the idea of repurposing things and recrafting – it's wonderful to see the ideas in pictures.
I don't have any new ideas, but I love the ones you shared! Have a great visit in New Orleans!
This was a fun post! I also did a post on using Jute webbing.
BTW, linked you to my favorite blogs listings.
Have a great day!
