This past Wednesday the Dallas/Fort Worth area bloggers got together for a bit of coffee and shopping. I always like to bring a small token of my affection to these gatherings. Since February is right around the corner I made The Perfect $1.00 Galentine Gift.
The Perfect $1.00 Galentine Gift
Rose bath salts are easy to make and a small luxury every gal can appreciate. They are perfect at the end of a cold or long day. You can immerse just your feet or your entire body into a rose scented water bath.
Ingredient List for 12 jars
- 5 bags of Epsom salts (I found mine at the Dollar store).
- 1 pack of mini jelly/mason/canning jars (At most grocery and craft stores).
- A few drops of essential oil (I used a rose scent but you can use whatever you prefer).
- A few drops of food coloring ( Just add a few drops of red to the salt, mix well to make pink).
- Ribbon (You can color coordinate any shade).
- Round “Handmade With Love” labels (I found mine on Pinterest).
Tools Needed
- Bowl and spoon to mix the salt with the essential oil and food coloring.
- Printer (to print out the labels).
- Circle shaped paper punch (for labels).
- Scissors to cut the ribbon.
After the Epsom salt has been mixed well simply add it to the jar. Print and punch out the labels. You can add a dot of glue if you want to secure the label permanently to the lid. Place the lid on the jar, twist on the ring and add a ribbon for embellishment. It’s so easy!
It’s a gift any gal would love!
Do you know a gal who’d like this gift?

Good Morning, Laura. A very sweet and useful gift. Thank you for the directions. Occasionally my college girlfriends come to our little town for alumni day and this would be an easy gift to share with them at lunch. Have a blessed weekend. By the way, it was announced this week by Truett McConnell Univ. that a lady who recently passed away left 3.7 million dollars to the school for a new Admin. bldg.

Thanks so much Laura for the sweet gift. It’s sitting on the little table by our bathtub and looks so nice that I might never use it. Trying to Pin.

Enjoyed your post; it’s perfect for a Valentine’s gift. I have been making Epsom bath salts for years; for myself, family, friends, and my church’s Christmas bazaar. All year long while I am thrifting and shopping, I keep my eyes out for potential containers. My jelly jars get the labels on their lids spray painted. I made my granddaughter an Eiffel Tower with a rainbow of different colors and scents. When I do multiple scents, I often separate the layers with a layer of vanilla as it blends well with the florals/fruits I typically use. Small amounts of leftovers get poured into Dollar Tree 10/$1 small plastic boxes for a 1 use pack. I make “Be Good to Yourself” baskets with my homemade salts, sugar scrubs, soaps, sachets, etc. supplemented with bought-on-clearance lotions, liquid soaps, hand towels, pens, stationery, candles, etc. A GW basket scrubbed and sprayed with a clear lacquer revamps it perfectly or repainting with a spray paint works, too.
One thing I would like to add; to avoid fragrances being absorbed into plastic, use glass or metal bowls and utensils to mix your salts..

Oh, I love this idea so much! I was just talking about Epsom salts with a girlfriend the other day and we both agreed we need to use them more in our self-care routine (what’s that?! ha!). And, of course, I am a fan of essential oils, so this is just perfect. Thanks for the inspo!
