Sunday Smiles Everlasting Love

Hello dear friends. It has been a long week full of emotions. My strength has come from the promise of Sunday Smiles Everlasting Love.

Sunday Smiles Everlasting Love

I am very sorry to write that my dear friend Marty’s husband, Jim, passed away this past Friday. Jim was an amazing Master Gardner. Everything he touched turned to green. He gave me so many wonderful tips on gardening when I was trying to toil the Arizona soil. Indeed I imagine him now strolling heaven with a trowel in his hand. He was so devoted to Marty and she to him. My deepest prayers are with my friend and her precious family as they navigate through such difficult waters.

Happy Touches

In an effort to try and balance my emotions I have been looking at lovely images. The Mayflower Inn and Spa is now on my “must visit in the future” list. Look at that amazing detail on the ceiling.

Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies

I have already made (and devoured) a batch of these amazing cookies. I guess I’ll have to make them again to send some off with my college-bound boy.

School Daze

Our family is currently attending online college freshman orientation. We spent several hours yesterday cleaning every inch of Sweet Guy’s dorm room. He will soon move in once school starts next week. As a mother, it is always difficult when children leave the nest. But sending a child out into this world right now, well I am completely terrified, to be honest. I am in daily prayer for the safety of our teachers and children as they return to school.

Sunday Smiles Everlasting Love

I’m taking a few days off to spend with my family. We have plans to quietly celebrate my birthday later this week. I feel tremendously blessed to be turning another year older.

I’ll see you on Friday,

Laura

Oh Laura, I know how you must feel, knowing Jim and Marty as you did. The news really stunned me as when you follow a blogger for many years, you start to feel you “know” them. We know where Jim is, but my heart aches for Marty as she travels through grief-filled days. I pray she will come to know Peace and comfort from many sources.
On a lighter note, that Inn looks fabulous! I have been distracting myself from a personal family crisis with looking online at interesting sites and beautiful gardens too and hoping we are all able to travel without fear someday. So so hard to keep fear at bay most days!
In spite of everything, I hope you are able to celebrate your birthday and have some fun! You are well-loved by your readers and we all wish you a fabulous year ahead!

I’m so sorry for the loss of Marty’s husband. I know that sadness affects so many.

You’ve been busy! And I’ll bet that room has never been cleaner. Does he have a roommate? I hope he has one who is conscientious in these times.

You deserve family time and a wonderful birthday. That’s how I felt last week — I don’t care how old I am, I’m just lucky to be having a birthday!

Laura, I burst into tears upon hearing Marty’s sad news. This Covid must end – it’s just too much, it’s all just too much.

Love your post – and I pray you find peace too during this scary time.

May I be the first to wish you a happy early birthday, in case I miss it. Hope you have many happy returns.

Blessings for good health and happiness for you and your family,. Hugs.
