I leave for Costume College on Thursday. There may still be one costume left to create. Since my guys are staying behind there are also grocery store runs to make, meal prep to accomplish, and mountains of laundry to wash. It’s best when I focus each day on what the truly important tasks are. Love is the key this Saturday Smiles All That And More.
The Most Beautiful Picnic
The clothing company Zimmerman recently celebrated the opening of their 35th store by hosting an enchanting summer soiree. While I don’t have a lemon covered arbor I would love to recreate the tablescape on a smaller scale.
The Window Box Robins
There are often little reminders of life’s magic that occur all the time in our everyday lives. Karen, from The Art of Doing Stuff, recently captured all delights and downfalls of having a robin’s nest right outside her office window.
An Artist Studio Becomes A Home
A one-time artist studio, built in 1878, has become the home for fashion stylist Sophie Gallagher. London designers Bunny Turner and Emma Pocock have successfully blended modern interiors with period-inspired details.
A Favorite Feed
Let’s hear for the boy. I actually follow several gentlemen on IG. Daniel Slowik is an Interior Decorator at Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler. He shares various work projects but my favorite posts are that of his home in Essex.
Saturday Smiles All That And More
Just a few blog posts have been written in advance. I felt bad about that. Shouldn’t I be doing MORE? Shouldn’t my website and IG be filled with better content?
Recently my lovely friend, Yvonne at Stonegable, was completely transparent in this post about everything (and everyone) that is required for her to produce her amazingly beautiful website. Yvonne, an empty nester, shares that “Along with Trish and Katie I enlist the help of an ad agency, a tech guru, a professional coach, an SEO expert, an accountant, a blog designer, and a videographer.”
I often become down on myself because I can’t produce more quality website and IG content LIKE EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO BE DOING.
I need to stop comparing. There is NO COMPARISON.
I still have one child at home.
Here at Storybook Cottage, I am the chef, the maid, and the gardener.
At DTA I am my own Trish/Katie, ad agency/tech guru, professional coach, SEO expert, accountant, blog designer, and occasionally a videographer.
I am doing the best I can and that is enough.
Perhaps you need to hear that too.
So here it is…
You are ENOUGH!

I love your blog and follow you on Instagram. I feel as if I am hearing from a friend. I don’t get that feeling from other blogs.

Please don’t ” beat yourself up” over not doing enough! Your blog is friendly and informative. Just like hearing from a friend each time. I wouldn’t change a thing!

You are definitely enough. Your blog is easy to relate to, intelligent in its teachings, and you provide your followers with insights far beyond those of the blogs who feel the need to use assistants, accountants, blog designers, tech gurus, blog coaches and videographers. At that point, is it really a blog or a mini corporation? I prefer to follow blogs created with love and personality.

You drew me right in, Laura. I had to dig on the Sophie Gallagher home (love!), as there was no link, but I found it by your lead. A perfect example of YOU ARE ENOUGH! Have a wonderful two trips, soak it all in. Your guys will appreciate you even more in your absences, I’m sure.
