Starfish and Stripes Forever Napkin Rings

Thank you so very much for your kind comments on my tropically patriotic living room and dining area. As promised here is the quick and easy Starfish and Stripes Forever Napkin Rings tutorial.

Starfish and Stripes Forever Napkin Rings

Supplies and Tutorial

  • small starfish (several varieties found HERE.)
  • raffia (found at the dollar store)
  • a drill with a small bit

Using a small drill bit a tiny hole was created at the top of each starfish.

Next, a thin piece of raffia was threaded through the hole.

Then the raffia was just wound around the blue and white striped ticking napkins I made a few years ago.

If you don’t own a drill or are short on time you can also just simply wrap the raffia around the napkin and lay the starfish on top. The blue circle was made from cardstock and a paper punch to add a bit of colorful oomph.

Love your star fish embellished napkin. Very eye catching.

I have to share something I discovered this morning. Working on my 4th tablescape I pulled out shells and starfish. My starfish are a different variety than yours. I stored some of them in a Zip loc bag and they did not smell fresh. Trying to remedy that situation I soaked them in clorox water and put them out in the sun. Several were turned over with the back exposed. A perfectly formed tiny star is in the middle of the back. It is so amazing I am going to email a picture to you. God constantly delights me.

Hope you had a delightful Fourth of July and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
