I recently gave our entry way a patriotic makeover by repurposing things I already had on hand. I hope you will enjoy A Yankee Doodle Dandy Of A Porch.

A Yankee Doodle Dandy Of A Porch
I had some old bunting that some of the panels had gotten mildewed over this past year. I didn’t want to throw it all out so I separated out the good pieces and tried to think of a creative way in how to use them.
Since it had been on my to do list to give the porch a good cleaning and to change out the decor I decided to add it as a bit of star spangled happiness to a wreath.

I first draped on the bunting and then added a few flowers, bells and branches.

It was all tacked on with hot glue.

Pot Refresh
The pots also got a bit of an overhaul. All of the winter flowers were well past in need of replacing.

I selected red petunias and white alyssum which are two of my favorites. A few impatients were sprinkled in as well.

A simple way to create patriotic decor is to simply add flags.

Lastly, Uncle Sam was given pride of place as the bench centerpiece.

Because back door guests are best I also jazzed up the backyard door that our family uses everyday.
A Fun Tutorial Video
