All week I have been wrapping presents and mailing packages. The room where all this activity is happening currently looks like Christmas exploded. Just like my heart recently did. Here is a story On giving.
Mess and clutter kind of makes me itchy.
Now I could have cleaned up on Thursday but I decided to go on an all-day field trip with Sweet Boy’s class.
You know, you learn a lot about your child and his friends when you spend several hours with them on a school bus. 🙂
What a gift!
Then on Friday, I did something REALLY fun!
Not too many people could get me to dress up as a mouse.
(Thank you to my good friend Kristina who shared this lovely costume with me.)
I cannot even begin to tell you how excited Marty and I were to be on Ceekay’s doorstep! Meri was our official photographer and she too was thrilled to be in on this happy delivery.
When our dear friend answered the door we shouted: “Ceekay, you’re going to Disneyland!”
Needless to say, she was stunned. We then shared with her how hundreds of bloggers joined together to make her wish come true. I, of course, turned into a blubbering idiot. I think we even left her still in shock.
The entire visit was just precious. You should know that we almost lost our dear friend during her most recent hospital stay. I know it was your good thoughts and sweet prayers that made the difference.
There is no doubt in my mind she will fully focus on getting her strength back so that she can indeed go to Disneyland.
Yes, it was probably the best gift I have ever had the pleasure to give thanks to so many wonderfully big hearted people.
Elves For Ceekay
But more importantly this gift was also one of the most wonderful gifts that I have ever received.
The gift of wonderful friends.
The gift of knowing there truly are people who care.
As I write this, tears stream down my face. I cannot convey my happiness and thankfulness to those who made this gift possible.
From the bottom of my heart, “Thank you!”
Laura
A big “Happy Birthday!” to one of my other favorite gifts~ Mr. Décor.
