Front Door Valentine Décor

I love to use the softer shades of Valentine’s Day when decorating my home. This even includes the front door. Here is my Front Door Valentine Décor.

Front Door Valentine Décor

Back in December I had found this wonderful vintage inspired post box. It was filled with holly and pine clippings from the yard and accented the greenery with eucalyptus that was spray painted gold.

However, I was ready for a change and thought a bit of romance was in order.

Trying to use things I already owned I went through my box of Valentine decorations and came across the scrolls I had created for an antique inspired “love letters under glass” display. I thought perhaps they would look pretty tucked in amongst some faux flowers.

I settled on a palette of sage hydrangeas, cream chrysanthemums, pink roses and mint peonies. Three old fashioned love letters were tucked in amongst the blooms.

The beauty is that I can removed the love letters after Valentine’s Day and the arrangement can carry me through spring.

For those who may be curious about the paint color or how I achieved such a smooth finish on a metal front door you can view the tutorial HERE.

I  am happy to report that even two years later, the finish on the door looks great!

Do you have Valentine décor on your door?

    That looks lovely!

Yes, I've had my Valentine's decor up since Jan. 14 and it's of the more traditional variety – reds and pinks. I just have a dollar-store heart on our front door, nothing fancy, but still festive. Where I get a little more involved is with our hutch and front windows. : )

    Laura,

What a precious Valentine's arrangement. I especially like how the color of the mint peonies match your front door.

    Have a blessed week,
    ~Kiki~

Hi Laura, That is just gorgeous. I love the colors and your door is lovely. In our new to us house, we had the painter to paint our new metal door deep red. It took A LOT of paint but we love it now. I don't have any Valentine decor yet.

I did gift the sweet little 6 yr old girl next door a mini yard flag – a pink Minnie Mouse Valentine flag!

This is precious, Laura! I don't think I have anything on my door right now and I do have some Valentine's Day stuff in my hoarding room! lol!

I love the post box…I had a pocket type of thingie I used to arrange dried flowers in and I can't find it or another one like it. Grrrrr…

    Thanks for sharing this.

That's beautiful, Laura. The post box was a terrific find. I remember the cute boxes in France — theirs were painted yellow and they just were so much nicer than the mailboxes we have! It looks great with the hydrangeas. I have to change my door out now that I'm home. This is a wonderful idea.

    Laura,
Your post box is gorgeous with the flowers and paper scrolls. Perfect for Valentine's Day and into spring.
