All Things Irish China

There are a few companies in Ireland that create china that is as charming and delightful as the country itself. All Things Irish China.

All Things Irish China

All Things Irish China

Royal Tara China is famous for its delicate scattering of tiny shamrocks.

Royal Tara china

Belleek china is a heavy china that is full of whimsy. Isn’t this a sweet bowl for spring?

Belleek China

I love this vase with the Irish Claddagh image. The design originated in the fishing village of Claddagh in the 1600’s. The hands clasping a heart topped by a crown represent love (heart) friendship (hands clasping) and loyalty (crown). Rings are often presented with this design with the expression “With my hands, I give you my heart, and crown it with my love.”

History of Irish Crystal

For “Quiet Man” fans, here is a china ornament based on the White ~o~Mornin’ cottage located in Cong, County Mayo.

White O' Mornin Cottage

With all this china shall we have an Irish tea party in the beautiful green countryside?

Irish Tea Party

We could set a table of antique linen and top it with painted tin cans holding clover and baby tears.

Irish Tea Party

Or maybe lay out a quaint cloth of eyelet topped by green glasses filled with flowers.

Irish Tea Party

Let’s tie up the napkins with a long blade of green grass.

Irish Tea Party

Perhaps we could add a bit of pink to our table as it looks so lovely with the green.

Irish Tea Party

Shall we have a spot of Barry’s tea or perhaps an Irish coffee?

Irish Coffee

Let’s serve it with a few clover cookies.

Do you collect Irish china?

Laura

I feel like I have been on a trip to Ireland. What a wonderful post, I love everything, especially the china and the teapot. My daughter Brook spent her junior year in Ireland and absolutely loved it. The one thing I can do is make some shamrock cookies, the ones in your photo are so sweet!

The Irish tea cup is so dainty…much too dainty for my house of three boys, but I can dream of days (about 18 years in the future), when beautiful things such as those can live in harmony in my house, unafraid of being broken!

Thanks for your visit to my blog. The china you shared here is beautiful! Although I am not Irish, I've always liked the image & symbolism of the Claddagh and actually had a ring when I was in my 20s–I've just recently passed it along to my daughter who is 16!

Enjoyed the China and the Shamrocks! I finially got a copy of “The Quiet Man” and really Thank You for mentioning it! I watched original and then with Maureen O’Hara commentating and she told what is still there from when they filmed and how some of Ireland has changed since the movie making days! Was pretty neat! So glad you are doing the Irish blogging Ksryl(Carol)
