Isn’t the Target $1 spot wonderful? A few weeks ago I spotted some tiny paper valentine baskets on the bottom shelf. My mind thought that they were cute but could possibly be made cuter. I transformed them into A Valentine Bon Bon Basket.
A Valentine Bon Bon Basket
I purchased two packages of the baskets, each a different design. I also found some darling paper cupcake liners that I planned on using to line the baskets.
Once home I dug through my supplies and found crepe paper, tissue garland, vintage treasures, millenary and velvet.
I played around with the crepe paper and decided it should be ruffled. I used a simple wide stitch on my sewing machine and then just gathered and gathered and gathered….
A hot glue gun is ever so handy to quickly attach ruffles and assorted bits of bliss.
The cupcake liners were placed in the basket and then filled with red hots and conversation hearts.
While I do like this creation I decided to go one step further. On Wednesday I will show you how to make the second half of a this Valentine “topiary”. It too is delightfully edible.
Happy hearts!
Laura

How cute. My girls have been into crafting, especially the 6 year old. We made the skewer and washi tape arrows from mcmasterandstorm.blogspot.com
and now she is ready for something else. Going to have to do something like this – she would love it.

You are fabulous! the feelings you have brought out in me are varied; jealousy at your creativity nobody could have done a more joyous collection. I mean it, really! Happiness at the sheer richness of the colors and angst, because I haven't done anything yet for my hubby. Thanks for posting this precious endeavor.
Boy did I gush.
